RDAP for the whole internet.
Fast, cached, and reliable.

rdap.cloud aggregates RDAP and WHOIS data from authoritative sources, then caches and normalizes responses so you can ship network intelligence without hammering upstreams.

Why rdap.cloud?

Skip the bootstrap plumbing

No need to download, cache, and refresh IANA bootstrap files yourself. We keep them warm.

🧭

One endpoint for everything

Domains, IPs, and ASNs via a single API call. No per-registry wiring or routing logic.

🛡️

RDAP-first, WHOIS fallback

Use modern RDAP wherever possible, with WHOIS only when RDAP isn't available.

📦

Built-in caching

Consistent responses and lower latency without maintaining your own cache layer.

📊

Batch lookups

Query multiple targets in one request by comma-separating inputs.

💎

No keys, no setup

Public API with fair limits. Great for quick scripts, automation, and internal tools.

Test the API

Try RDAP lookups in your browser. Enter a domain, IP address, or ASN.

Try these examples:
Endpoint: GET /api/v1/[subject]

API Documentation

Lookup Domain

GET /api/v1/example.com

Fetch authoritative RDAP data for a domain name.

Lookup IP or ASN

GET /api/v1/8.8.8.8

Fetch RDAP data for IP addresses or AS numbers.

Service Catalog

GET /api/v1/services

See the aggregated RDAP and WHOIS services used for lookups.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does rdap.cloud return?

rdap.cloud aggregates RDAP responses from authoritative servers and falls back to WHOIS only when needed. We normalize responses so they are consistent and predictable.

Does this replace RDAP servers?

No. We proxy and cache responses so you do not have to maintain a full bootstrap client or repeatedly query upstream servers.

Why is a lookup returning an error?

The target may be invalid or unsupported by RDAP. We include a clear error message in the response. If you see an issue, open a GitHub issue.

How often are bootstrap files updated?

Bootstrap data is cached and refreshed periodically to stay current while minimizing upstream traffic.

Is there rate limiting?

Yes. We apply fair rate limits to protect upstreams and keep the service stable.

Can I query multiple targets at once?

Yes. Comma‑separate targets in the URL: /api/v1/example.com,8.8.8.8,13335.
